Country Living ~ Simplicity, Frugality and Thrift…

22 Nov

Made today…

Frugality, simplicity and thrift…cutting down old curtains bought at a Boot Fair, to make new curtains for this window.

Hung on curtain wire…the cheapest and most effective way to hang light curtains.

And cafe curtains on the kitchen windows… These curtains are easy and fast to make, sewing in straight lines and no need for accessories of any kind!

Candles for Midwinter, made over recent days, using candle scraps collected up over the course of the year.

I got this lovely spiral at the weekend from a guy who is making interesting art shapes from wood…very simple and effective…you can visit his website at  and see some of the pieces…

Flowers grown in the tunnel…pot grown, now brightening up the kitchen…no money, just time and love!

Beeswax candles are beautiful luxuries to make and give. I use pure beeswax in my face cream and body lotions…boasting that they are completely edible!
      Enjoy making the candles!
