Love, Cats and Yeats…A Bealtaine Cottage Valentine

Che nestles on top of the mantle above the stove…the warmest place in the cottage today, Valentine’s day…cats are so clever! The hearts hang below him as he teases Jack!

Willie Yeats is one of my favourite poets.

This is my favourite poem and very apt for Valentine’s Day!

W.B. Yeats

“When You Are Old” WHEN you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep; How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face; And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.”
― W.B. YeatsThe Aloe plant in the porch has had lots of babies, even though this is the north side of the cottage and quite cold at times!

Hyacinths in full bloom today and releasing heady scents around the cottage.

One of the blue Hyacinths has decided to rest against the work-top in the kitchen.

Dylan Thomas

“Though lovers be lost, love shall not; And death shall have no dominion.”

    • Eric…missy’s appetite has increased and she is sleeping well, though am still waiting on the results from her biopsy. Some friends called yesterday, Anne and Simon, and Anne(who has 10 cats), spoke very optimistically in Missy’s favour, saying that the signs looked good!
Please keep well-wishing for Missy, as the power of good energy flow is Divine and good people can channel…that I know!
I will let you know as soon as…
