A Nation That Destroys…

Bealtaine Cottage PermacultureA nation that destroys its soils destroys itself.

Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.

– Franklin D. Roosevelt

Bealtaine Cottage Permaculture No-one can dispute that statement.

We are all enlightened as to the importance of trees in our world.

Every time we breath it is because of the great lungs of our Earth.

Bealtaine Cottage Permaculture It really is a wonder why it isn’t the standard thing to do on the birth of a child… plant a tree…perhaps this should be mandatory, as a way of reminding every person on the planet about the life link between ourselves and trees.

Trees at Bealtaine, June 2011 004The battle we have fought, and are still fighting, for the forests is a part of the eternal conflict between right and wrong. – John Muir

Trees at Bealtaine, June 2011 007I only wish that I had more land to plant trees!

A few more acres and then some more.

Bealtaine Cottage PermacultureI would be happy planting trees until the day I die…and then to be planted into the ground with a beautiful tree to grow from me!

Bealtaine Cottage Permaculture So to be completely practical in the season I find myself in, I make a midwinter wish to my friends and family…a tree would make a lovely present!

Bealtaine Cottage PermacultureA growing investment for you, me and every lovely baby born today!

If you would like me to plant a tree on your behalf, or for someone dear to you, please contact me through my Etsy Shop…

  1. Magnificent goods from you, man. I’ve understand your stuff
previous to and you are just too magnificent. I really like what you have acquired here, really like
what you are saying and the way in which you say it. You make it entertaining and you still take care of to keep it wise.
I cant wait to read far more from you. This is really
    a tremendous web site.

  2. Thanks for a great little page – we’ll be trying the rose-hip extract. Happily planting trees & bushes here (Cambridge), & taking acorns & tree seed to Mayo.

Mayo is in desperate need of trees. I planted over a 100 there many years ago, including oak. Such a beautiful, beautiful county…it takes one’s breath away! Nephin, Westport, Achill…the never ending love affair!
    Blessings to you and yours

  4. After reading about your change to “veganism” I watched a Netflix movie called “Vegucated” and a very disturbing one called “Earthling” I understand your decision.

I have watched neither, but have flagged them up for future viewing, though I may not stay the course on the second one, as I get upset quite easily.
    Thanks, Dorothy!

  5. I’m having trees/shrubs as presents for Christmas from my 2 sons.
They know I get more satisfaction and pleasure from being in the garden, planting things.
I’ve got a couple of Pyracanthus to go in and also a yew tree and a holly bush.
I love being in the garden and having my 2 chickens following me, just in case I turn them up a tasty morsel. The robins are also in on the act too and love the compost heap.
It’s lovely to feel connected to the Earth and I often think of you and your lovely smallholding, when I’m out and about in the garden.
    Happy days.

There is an old saying that goes something like this…One is nearer God’s heart in a garden than anywhere else on Earth.
I connect with the Divine more easily in my garden or just outdoors!
    Enjoy it
    Blessings to you and yours
