At one time in my life in the 70’s I had a years supply of food and products for my family of 5 in my basement. My house had a small yard and what I couldn’t grow I got from small farmers. What a feeling of security, I am striving to do that again this year. Imagine if that happened world wide. Big huge supermarkets would have to change or go out of business, small farmers would make a living wage and people would feel secure.
I Just love your pictures today, well everyday but today with the Daffs, plums and all the other bushes, they were beautiful..

This is something that I’ve been encouraging now for some time…for everyone to allocate an area of their home for use as a pantry. You are so right about the supermarkets and their insidious grip on the people. A pantry can be very empowering, for as you say people will be more inclined to grow, make and store food…that is the way to go: self-empowerment!
