Geraniums on the windowsill at Bealtaine Cottage

There’s a high wind in the skies above the cottage. Stanley stove at Bealtaine Cottage

Wind-chimes are clashing in discordant harmony all over the gardens.

The fire in the stove roars up the chimney, heating up the oven that beckons a cake or a loaf of bread to bake…

The sun shines in a baby-blue sky and the cats are spread out on the warm earth.

The back door to the cottage lies open to admit the warmth of the April sun…

I love this 2013 post, including Colette’s reply in the comments section to a woman working to grow and nurture a similar paradise in the States:

“Creation begins with intent and a willingness to honour Nature.
All will manifest from that point.
Planting trees is a blessing from you to Nature and each blessing you plant will be returned over and over.
Those who seek to dominate her will be subject to the material world.
Those who honour and respect will be rewarded with joy and nurtured in abundance.
    You are planting Eden.
    Blessings from Bealtaine Cottage

If we each do our own little part, we can and will get Back to the Garden! Food for body, heart, and soul.

  2. I had to smile when you posted the iron candle holder. For our anniversary unbeknownst to either my nor I, we both bought the same candle holder!! Like minds! Lovely bought a and photos.

  3. what beautiful photos, and what a charming home! i’m working hard to do something similar in the states, though my six acres are still in the toddler stage. we have critters and over one thousand baby trees, with more babies of many species arriving this year. it is such a blessing to see photos from a well loved and nourished home – very much like what i hope my own home will be like years from now.
