Wonderful quotes and sentiments, wonderful pictures. These give rest to the mind in daily living. I have a black standing candelabra almost identical to yours! Now you’ve given me an idea to put it in front of the window. The trees are the roofs of our cathedral. Did you ever see the movie called Black Robe? It would switch scenes between the white settler’s idea of spirituality, and the native’s view in North America. One was a true cathedral ceiling in Europe, while the native’s view was towering trees forming a canopy for a roof. Nature.
That sounds like a wonderful film…I shall search that out!
Trees are certainly my Cathedral and where I find it easiest to connect with the Divine.

I like Patti am blessed to live in New England.. I have adored the woods since I was a child and live on the edge of a woods with views of trees everywhere. When I think of the things that trees give us, heat, shade, food, shelter, wind, homes for animals, baskets, and the list goes on I am ever so grateful. Thank you for the fine post and for helping Mother Ireland get her trees back.

Having grown up in a rural part of New England, trees have always been part of my life. I spent many hours as a child just sitting up in a tree watching the world. It seemed very close to god..much closer than any church. As an adult I am also lucky enough to live in a place where trees can be seen from any window. And I think I have taken it all a bit for granted. Reading of your joy at being surrounded by trees has made me more appreciative. On my first trip to Ireland, I fell in love with the place, but I did note that there weren’t many trees. It is the addition of trees that make Bealtaine such a sanctuary….for you, and for wildlife. Bless you for all your planting! And thank you for your lovely post.
