It’s late as I write this blog…I really should be in bed, but the beauty of the day has filled me with enthusiasm to share it with you!
I made a journey to Omagh this morning to visit my mother.
The day was bright and the sky clear as I set off on the journey North.
I drove up around Lough Allen, across the border at Belcoo, through Enniskillen and onto Omagh.
On the way I stopped by Lough McNean at Belcoo.
Legend has it that this was the scene of an ancient massacre.
It’s a strange place, resonating some kind of ancient energy.
The mountains around the Lough stand guard over deep, dark waters that mark the borderlands
The landscape pulls one in as if by magic, forcing the eye to examine the shadows in search of something…something…some memory of being here before…
Is deas an áit sin le feicáil.
Thanks X
There are times when you have to let your soul go back beyond yourself. This looks just such a place. You just relax, your breathing slows, and you allow the past to enter. You don’t know what that past is, but your soul does.
So many people fight to keep control, because they feel they are more important. I truly believe that to enter the timeless past gives us the reconnection that we need.
So beautifully articulated…thank you Polly X
