Actions speak louder than words…that has always been my mantra.
I look for actions in all the talkers and see the real person.
The truth can be seen in the planting of a tree, care for the Earth, care for other human beings, compassion for animals…
Each morning I walk in the gardens to see and listen, seeing and hearing the truth as it manifests all around me in birdsong, changing colours, rain, sun…

We have passed “Peak Oil,” but if our governments told us this and began making preparations for dealing with the consequences, that would be considered revolutionary!
Most times the truth is not palatable in the short term and much of our living is lived in “short termism!”
The generations to come are not considered…there is no seventh generation, at least not in the mindset of those we trust to govern us, or should I say, entrust to govern us!
I live in the mindset of “Edge of Empire.”
My truth is very different from ‘short term truth that suits!’
I have no savings in any bank, but have long term investments in Mother Earth.
When was the last time you heard any government representative refer to “Mother Earth”?
What are we being told about Peak Oil?
Is anyone in government talking about what kind of world we are building, or planting, for our grandchildren?
If the answer is in the negative, then what manner of “truth,” are we being peddled?
Time to find our own truth and deal with it as best we can.

Wow I am now able to comment again. I am not so computer wise. I love you words and pictures. You keep me going to my garden, which surrounds the house. Have plans to enlarge a vegetable garden bead. I live in Wisconsin Us. The weather change has brought Ireland to us. Soft rains in mornings or mist, some storms, and much more ran during high summer than usually. I have come to believe I am being blessed because my health may keep me from coming back to Ireland on last time.

I love your cottage, grounds and agree wholeheartedly with your writing. Trying to follow your lead and take care of our plot, too. Luckily , many in our area are preservationists of our land as well. Please keep your posts coming! I am glad you are staying put for now!

You so inspire me. I have been living for forty plus years totally off grid. (wind power, compost loo, borehole) Sadly we are struggling a bit more as we grow older and my partner has MS. We so want to continue living with Mother Earth as much as possible, and reading your blog helps me stay positive and true to our lifestyle. We live in a stunning part of Cornwall, in a granite cottage, but our garden is not getting the attention it deserves. I need to learn about permaculture….is there a book I should be reading? One day I hope to visit you (like you no money in bank!!). In the meantime if ever you are in Cornwall you would be more than welcome here as a gift for your inspiration. Thank you. Love Lu xx

Very well said….. many have gotten this message and are finding their own truths that have nothing to do with government. Those who have heard the warning and the “call” have gone back to the land… to mother earth. No matter what one names it, mother earth will care for us, if we respect and care for her.
