With Love

The hands of the clock move forward, inexorably towards the first day of the New year.

I sit in the quiet, listening to the low singing of the kettle on the range, looking forward to toasting this New Year with a cup of tea.

Few people admit to being quietly on their own.

It seems that the flurry of activity around this celebration is something of a competition.

The cities of the world attempting to out do one another in firework displays.

Sales of alcohol being added into the GDP figures…and on and on!

The fact is that there are many more people like myself than any of the media would care to admit…this year especially!

Many people are suffering financial hardship and simply cannot afford to go out so soon after the Christmas festivities.

So, in this time of tranquillity here at Bealtaine Cottage, let me take the opportunity to thank all of you wonderful souls who have visited this sacred little piece of Mother Earth, sent letters, posted presents, made donations, took the time to write some truly beautiful comments and stayed on this journey with me through 2014.

I feel so blessed by you all and in return you have my heartfelt blessings.

May the days ahead be filled with joy and love, peace and compassion, for each and every one of you.

With love and deep gratitude from Colette at Bealtaine Cottage, West Ireland.

  1. I think that this was a beautiful way to spend the turn-over of the year. I love it too, the quietness and gratitude, beautiful! Wishing you a blessed 2015.

  2. Colette Thank you for you good wishes, put so much better than I could but my sentiments are the same when I wish you love and contentment in 2015. John >

  3. HAPPY NEW YEAR, Colette! Thank you for another year sharing your insight and inspiration with us. Your wonderful blog always makes me feel more enriched and motivated to lead the good life. More power to you and our sacred mother Earth. May we all continue to make positive changes towards a peaceful and prosperous future XXX

  4. Happy New Year Colette! It was “Peace and Solitude” this New Years eve as I sat knitting away in the quiet of my home. The new year crept in without much fanfare and I was quite pleased at that. Just happy to see the knitting stock beginning to grow before the adverts, website posts and fairs. Doesn’t take much to please me through this cold days of winter… Wishing you good Health, Peace, and prosperity in the New Year. I feel so fortunate to have this connection across the miles, it truly is a blessing! Hugs, bj

    • It sounds heavenly. I think that humanity is moving towards a better understanding of the need for sacred journeys to be fulfilled…we are blessed to have the opportunity to live as we please to live and not be forced to be part of anything other than ourselves.
Blessings to you Betty, today and every day of 2015! XXX

  5. Colette, I also wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year!!! Thank you for allowing me to share and learn from you path. You have presented a portal of what is truly important, and while I read your words and especially look at your photos I can escape from the daily insanity of the “real world”. I truly believe you have no idea of the power you have in changing the mindset of so many of us. I look forward to the journey you will take us on in the new year.

  6. Yeah, sitting by the fire was good enough last night. But, then New Years is really Samhain anyhow. Not this Gregorian Calendar one. Have a great year to come in any case! Mark

  7. Dear Colette, Happy New Year and much love from all of us here in Connemara. Hope to see you in 2015 xxx

  8. Happy New Year Colette My son and I saw in the New Year with our dogs, sitting by the stove doing a jigsaw puzzle. A calm and peaceful start to 2015!

  9. Blessings to you in the seasons ahead, and many thanks Colette, for the time and gifts you gave us all in 2014. We too, spent a quiet night seeing in the New Year, babysitting for my son while he and his lady went out to celebrate with friends. There is no more concrete way to appreciate and celebrate the cycle of life, than to watch the child of your child, so like, yet so different…so many memories from days gone by….so much hope for the future…
    we are rich.

  10. Thank you for sharing all those beautiful photos of your home, your yard, the seasons’ changes & your pets. My husband & I are spending a quiet New Year’s evening at home by choice. Like you, we’ve come to treasure peaceful times. Happy New Year!!

  11. Happy New Year, dear Colette! May 2015 reflect the love with which you have begun 2015 and shine brightly the whole year through. ~ Blessings! <3

  12. Happy New year to you, too, Colette! May you have a happy and peaceful 2015! Like you, I and most of my friends will be staying home alone tonight. We are in touch with each other via Skype and email as we are far apart, and we are all content with that. It is well below zero outside but warm here by the fire with quiet music playing. The sun is steadily rising higher in the sky day by day, and soon I’ll be ordering my first heirloom seeds for the new garden. I hope my garden does as well as yours did for you this past season.

  13. Thank you Colette for sharing your home and heart with us. I look forward to seeing what happens at Bealtaine Cottage in 2015. Cheers from the US! 🙂
