We are now entering the 46th year of a movement that continues to inspire, challenge ideas, ignite passion, and motivate people to action.

In 1970, the year of our first Earth Day, the movement gave voice to an emerging consciousness, channelling human energy toward environmental issues. Forty-six years later, we continue to lead with ground-breaking ideas and by the power of our example.

And so it begins. Today. Right here and right now. Earth Day is more than just a single day — April 22, 2016.

This Earth Day and beyond, let’s make big stuff happen. Let’s plant 7.8 billion trees for the Earth. Let’s divest from fossil fuels and make cities 100% renewable.

Yes, I have a mortgage and some bills to meet each month and this is my only source of income. The free website, Bealtaine Cottage, has almost reached maximum capacity at 97.8% of 13 GB allowance at a cost of 199 Euros per year. Bealtaine Cottage Good Life has the same 13 GB allowance, but with only 18% used, so you can see why I now publish new blogs on Bealtaine Cottage Good Life! My total expenditure on both sites and internet maintenance now exceeds 700 Euros.

I will continue to write about, and photograph, Mother Earth whether you subscribe/donate or not…but I so appreciate those who do!

  1. is it possible to make a donation over and above subscribing? I would be happy to and others probably would be too! it’s great if there is an option both for a one time donation and for an automatic donation on a monthly basis or whatever the donor would like.

      • Money is hollow trinkets of metal placed high on lofty pedestals, placed there to be worshiped and longed for by those that are richer than they believe they are. Sadly those that own lofty pedestals are so poor, all they have is those hollow trinkets.

  4. Good morning Colette! I subscribed with paypal earlier this week yet seem blocked from your daily blogs. Thinking that perhaps there might be a lag time between subscription and being able to access your beautiful blog? If I’ve missed a step, please let me know.

      A few pointers that may help…
      Are you logged in with the email address that corresponds with your wordpress account? ( Many people have more than one email account)
      The web address of the site is bealtainecottage.org
      Once you’re on the site, press the follow button and the new blogs will go straight there…to the email address associated with your wordpress account.

        I have also, after 2 years of thinking/procrastinating about it, started by own blog on WordPress. I will say, your blogs gave me the extra push I needed to get it done.
