WFPB Lifestyle Transition:Day 3

IMG_7395 (2)

This is Day 3 of my Whole Food Plant-Based, (WFPB) lifestyle.

Why lifestyle?

Well, the diet industry appears to be predicated upon a “lose it and carry on as before” approach to what is becoming the world’s biggest (excuse the pun) threat to health…obesity and its ensuing problems.

download (4)I have completed a 100 Day Juice Fast as a way of restoring health and am now following this lifestyle… It is working very well so far, as I feel content and balanced with all the benefits I felt on the Juice Fast!

I’m wearing a Kath Kidston skirt over short leggings.

This is a comfortable way to wear shorter skirts.

This one has side pockets, so is very practical too.

The belt bag is detachable and made from recycled car tyre inner tubes! I have two recipes to share with you today, one is Hummus and the other is Banana Ice Cream. Both are fat, oil, sugar and salt free!

2 cloves garlic

1 (15-ounce) can of Chickpeas, drain but reserve the liquid to use in the Hummus.

1 tablespoon Tahini.

Juice of half a fresh lemon.

1 teaspoon ground cumin.

1/4 teaspoon ground coriander.

Process all together, adding about half the reserved liquid.

Ground black pepper to taste and fresh chopped coriander sprinkled on top.

IMG_7358I eat all this in one meal with 2 toasted wholemeal pitta breads with masses of salad including lettuce and chopped herbs.

IMG_7361I am also continuing to juice each day…usually in the morning. This much spinach to 3 green apples and half a lemon.

IMG_7360Watermelon is my preferred snack in this hot weather!

The Banana Ice Cream is simplicity itself and you can dress it up in whatever way suits your taste buds and health.

Take 2 bananas.

Chop into half inch pieces.

Put into a sealed container and freeze.

Once frozen, put the pieces into a food processor with 5 tblsps of plant milk…process for  10-20 seconds until smooth.

Serve immediately or rest in the freezer until ready to serve…no more than 15-20 mins. IMG_7403Yummy and heart healthy!

6492A030-AA9B-4FEA-B82E-4C54A3A452E9I have a further 18lbs to lose in order to reach the OUTER limits of the healthy BMI chart! The wonderful thing is…this does not feel like a diet and really is a lifestyle.

  1. You are my new inspiration so happy i found you. Just ordered your book as we have a small 3 acre farm as well and a cabin in the woods . So i have lots of your works to do. I needed this and am already feeling refreshed and energetic. thank you. I am hoping to do a floor like your kitchen in the cabin bath…very small. did any of your YT videos speak of this??? I saw it on one but dont know which one it was. thank you so much.

  2. Well done, Colette.

I haven’t visited the site for some time, you’re looking great!

Veganism is getting more and more widespread. Apart from numerous more options on the market and in places to eat, I’ve started my own blog about a vegan’s life in the west of Ireland!

Keep up the great work, hope to see you again one day soon.

  3. Have you thought about growing your own Perpetual Spinach, and perhaps some Kale. They are so easy to grow and very prolific. Half a dozen plants of each would keep you well supplied for your juices. I use mine in my Nutriblasts, whuch are similar ☺

  4. You are looking beautiful Colette. You were not kidding you do love fashion 🙂 I am inspired. I love the black dress and spotted leggings combo. And the shoes of course. You wear it well 🙂
