The Tree of Life (Bog Oak Pendants)

I have included the Tree of Life charm to my ancient Irish Bog oak pendants. This tree has in its branches the sun and moon.

The sun and moon represent different things in different cultures but the one thing that is common in all of them is their polarity.

The sun symbolizes firmness, strength and power while the moon represents calmness, beauty, nurturing.

Sorry… THIS PARTICULAR PENDANT IS SOLD OUT! OTHERS ARE AVAILABLE BELOW.

Each piece of ancient Bog oak is hand crafted by Colette at Bealtaine Cottage, Ireland, each one unique. Irish bog-oak ranges in age from 3000 to 8000 years old. The Irish climate was warmer and drier at that time in our history. Oak trees grew profusely throughout the country. As people cut the turf in the bogs the ancient oak is uncovered where it has lain for thousands of years. It is soft and pliable at first but as it is exposed to the air it becomes almost rock-hard. I consider this ancient wood to have magical, restorative powers with high level energy. Includes P&P Worldwide.

These knots are complete loops that have no start or finish and are said to represent eternity whether this means loyalty, faith, friendship or love. The Celtic Knot is particularly representative of the eternal soul, as the Celts held belief in the Transmigration of the Soul. (I have written about this on the website and talked about it in many YouTube videos.)

The Goddess represents the embodiment of Mother Earth and the Divine Feminine. On a cosmic or universal level, we can relate to Mother as a sacred being.  Devi, a term from the Hindu religion and philosophy means goddess. It is one of the terms or metaphors used when discussing the divine.  Perhaps most importantly, Devi is the archetype of the Mother as a primordial symbol in all cultures and at all times. It signifies the feminine aspect of divinity, god, or consciousness.

The Monolith is an ancient symbol filled with mystery and power. Broken into its roots mono and lithic, monolithic means simply “one stone.” Monoliths are to be found in stone form across ancient landscapes, especially here in Ireland. Their true meaning is ofttimes discussed and debated. You make of it what you will…

  2. Hi Colette,

Your pendants look gorgeous – so symbolic of everything you do. Sorry to hear that people have been complaining about sound on your Youtube videos. For my part, I feel that you are incredibly generous with your time and the beautiful space at Bealtaine Cottage – I just feel grateful for everything that you put out. • Thank you Carole…it just all happened on a rather difficult day for me and I felt the best way forward was closure by deleting the video. I expect we all have days of low energy and subsequent sensitivity. All’s well that ends well!
      Blessings X

  4. I am so happy that I ordered this pendant – the monolith version. I’ve worn it just about every day since I received it! Just looking at it calms me and helps me remember that I’m just one essential part of this earth. And yet, whatever I do to celebrate my existence should reflect the natural world. Giving back is gratitude.
