…everywhere I look I see myself.  There I go: that bald man, this angry child, that fearful cat, that cool stone, that bubbling brook, that worm struggling for its life, that bird desperate to feed her hungry babies, that one trapped in his rage, this one anxious but fearful of finding out why.  Hardly strangers!  Empathy is the life of the soul, I think, because the soul that allows us to see the one in the other is the soul that finds joy.  Claudia Michele

Compassion…is an understanding of the unity of all things.  It is an awareness that I is not separate from thou, that whatever is happening to the planet, or to another person, is happening to me.  Compassion is total empathy, an absolute sense of connection.  Paul Rezendes

“She had always lived her best life in dreams. She knew no greater pleasure than that moment of passage into the other place, when her limbs grew warm and heavy and the sparkling darkness behind her lids became ordered and doors opened; when conscious thought grew owl’s wings and talons and became other than conscious.”

“There’s a difference between fear and paralysis. And I’ve learned that I don’t have to “grow up” to be open to opportunity, to be willing to step through doors without being pushed. I just have to be brave. I just have to be slightly braver than I am scared.”

Earth Consciousness…A Portal to the Divine

10 July 2014 001

Harvesting is under way.

This year more than ever sees an immense increase in the offerings from Mother Earth.

10 July 2014 005Blackcurrants are taking up much of my time over recent weeks.

Bag after bag is sealed and placed in the freezer to await further instructions!

Several hundred pounds of Blackcurrants from what was only two original bushes, but now number several dozen…easy to grow and multiply from cuttings stuck straight into the earth!

10 July 2014 010Trees have put out a huge amount of wood which will be coppiced later in the year.

This beautiful, forgiving form of energy that aids the environment as it grows ready for use!

Masses of flowers with the resulting seed-heads…growing abundance that is now unstoppable.

10 July 2014 053Seeds that wing their way all over the planet to spread abundance in places I shall probably never gaze upon…the magic of life is impenetrable!

10 July 2014 012And through all this ceaseless activity, Sammy-Bear sunbathes and yawns the day away…

And deep within the Fairy Wood, magical afternoons turn into conspiratorial evenings.

Woodland at bealtainecottage.com 020
The coolness of the Fairy Dell lends itself to long hot summer days, where the sanctuary of shade is a welcome relief from the heat of the day.

10 July 2014 025I am loathe to leave this magical place…

I think it my destiny to stay here and write the stories coming from the land.

10 July 2014 026I had promised my Mother that I would dedicate my first book to her and I shall!

My story of Bealtaine Cottage will be published!

Mothers are immortal.

10 July 2014 028This consciousness we share with all life is there all the time, if we but listen!

I have come to believe in the manifestation of the Divine in all things.

10 July 2014 029Over the past ten years the Divine has manifested here at Bealtaine Cottage, in a most visual and real way.

For the first time I no longer have to imagine the Divine…I experience the mystery all around me in tangible, human and ethereal ways.

10 July 2014 030During the first few years here, growing Bealtaine from a land persecuted and dying from monoculture, I talked about permaculture and the wonder of it all…the regenerative qualities of this practical approach to caring for Mother Earth.

10 July 2014 033However, permaculture has led me further…

10 July 2014 041…into the spirit of Mother Earth herself and beyond that into an understanding of the Divine Consciousness.

10 July 2014 040Those who follow Bealtaine Cottage have witnessed the transformation and the transformative power of compassion toward Mother Earth.

10 July 2014 043We all feel this consciousness.

However it is difficult to articulate, as it is not the third dimensional consciousness we are accustomed
to.

10 July 2014 044It is rather on an emotional and feeling level that we know and love our planet.

10 July 2014 061Those who feel this connection are more at peace with themselves and in harmony with their spirit.

10 July 2014 049It is this harmony I feel at Bealtaine Cottage, which is so impossible to leave.

10 July 2014 054I sense a beginning, not an end.

The Tipping Point Moment

permaculture @ bealtainecottage.com 001 “Right now over  70% of the world population is convinced that something serious has to be done about the dangers facing the planet. …Most of humanity wants to know how to make the change. It’s one of those tipping-point times where things can change unbelievably fast…”

~ Paul H. Ray and Sherry Ruth Anderson, The Cultural Creatives

permaculture @ bealtainecottage.com 004Words of wisdom.

Words of vision.

The coming times; a glimpse of what’s to come.

These times are infused with uncertainty and fear.

Many people deal with this by switching off.

permaculture @ bealtainecottage.com 005The Tipping Point has arrived.

Most of us know this to be a truth.

We know it deep in our hearts.

permaculture @ bealtainecottage.com 007There is a panic among those who hold power over us.

This is manifested in the shifting sands of policy as things appear to fall apart.

Our governments have sown the seeds of chaos…in what they have done and what they have failed to do.

permaculture @ bealtainecottage.com 008The most insidious, Machiavellian, duplicitous human beings are rampaging and corralling us all into dark times.

permaculture @ bealtainecottage.com 010“Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.”
― W.B. YeatsThe Collected Poems

permaculture @ bealtainecottage.com 011For several years, as I have written this blog, and photographed the exquisite and the beautiful that is Mother Earth, I have attempted to inspire and encourage a return to Mother Earth.

permaculture @ bealtainecottage.com 013For those who dwell close to her, quickly find the connection to life and spirit they have searched for, and in the finding is birthed a renewed sense of humanity, compassion, goodness and joy.

These are the values we have, as humans, innate within us.

permaculture at bealtainecottage.com 045

The intuitive, intrinsic, spontaneous gifts of the Divine which make us as one.

permaculture @ bealtainecottage.com 012

Those we have elected as Trustees of Our Planet are conjuring wars, corruption, hatred and despair; thrusting us into the darkest of times.

Tar Sands Destruction

Canada September 2012

Canada is a beautiful country, with stunning scenery and some of the most spectacular trees I have ever had the pleasure to see.

I visited Canada last September…here I am in Ontario, not far from North Bay.

Canada is, at present, extracting oil from Tar Sands, oil that will be piped into the US via the Keystone XL Pipeline.

It breaks my heart to think that any part of this extraordinarily beautiful country should be sacrificed to the greed of those who (would happily) see Mother Earth so destroyed.

I have posted a link to some basic info about this…

Front door at Bealtaine CottageToday has been disturbingly hot.

I don’t tolerate this extreme of heat well, so most of my chores were done this morning, very early and this evening as the day cools into night.

Potager beds at Bealtaine CottageAll that we do on this small, sacred, little planet is all connected, all the good and all the bad.

Rambling Roses at Bealtaine CottageAs a gardener and tender of the Earth, I can state quite categorically, that the weather systems are more extreme and unpredictable.

Raised Potager bedsCause and effect…we are having an effect for sure!

The Rocket stove…

Stonehenge, Newgrange and the Cycle of Life

The autumn continues to progress through it’s mellow display of earthy colours.

Tomorrow is the Equinox and the beginning of the descent towards midwinter.

The time of year denotes the slowing down of all that is life as we know it.

Time to sort out the winter woolies and hang the heavy curtains to keep out the drafts.

www.bealtainecottage.com 024

One of the big tasks I have lined up here at Bealtaine Cottage is the coppicing of the majority of the trees that were planted eight years ago, in the first flush of restoring the fertility of the land.

www.bealtainecottage.com 022

Trees are one of the most important connections we have to the Divine, embodying the sacred fertility that anchors us all on this planet.

Where trees grow, life is abundant…without them we are bereft of all that makes life comfortable and good.

One of the great delights of the shorter days is the ritual lighting of the stove and the chance to sit around the fire and enjoy the scent of woodsmoke on the air.

There are few pleasures in life quite so comforting.

From this point in time the autumn will wend its way through to Samhain and evolve into the dark depths of winter, finally rising towards the light in the deep midwinter, a time of renewal, hope and promise.

Life is cyclical.

The builders of Stonehenge and Newgrange knew all about that.

The New Age

Bealtaine Cottage 007

We are living in a time of flux…All is change.

Many of us are seeing the potential in this continuous change and regard it as an awakening to The Age of Ecology.

Bealtaine Cottage 006

The Age of Corporatism continues in its most ugly form, sucking in souls to its relentless mantra of buy/consume, buy/consume…

Economic growth in a finite world?

What was has almost destroyed our world, as more and more of humanity come to realise.

As many move away from the corporate model we once embraced, the world appears different to our eyes…we are living, alive, sensory deprived human beings.

Economic growth?

MORE pollution, consumerism, ill-health, war, alienation, depression…

We need a new model for life, something better to aspire to…

To live a better life, with fewer products.

To leave some of the raw materials in the Earth.

Bealtaine Cottage 017

To stop taking and grabbing and wanting…

To consider the people yet to live.

Realising our present path is leading our precious Earth to TOTAL Ecological Collapse.

There has never been this amount of consumer goods on our planet.

The Permaculture Gardens of Bealtaine Cottage

There has never been this amount of sickness, despair, depression and anxiety.

Conscious living.

Being fully aware of what we do, buy, eat, share, give and…think.

We are in transit from the Age of Pisces.

This began with the birth of Christianity and is represented by the fish.

Much of what has been experienced over the past two thousand years, has been shadowed and darkened by patriarchy, in its most virulent form.

Bealtaine Cottage 007

This is a time to leave behind what we now see as futile!

We are entering a new age… An Age of great change

The Age of Aquarius…

The Garden Revolution! Tax Free Food, Drink and Fuel. Permaculture at Bealtaine, Ireland.

Willi Paul from Planetshifter Magazine in America asked me yesterday how I was doing…and I told him…that this year at Bealtaine Cottage Smallholding was on course to be the bumper harvest of all time!

This is the seventh year of permaculture here on the land and the magic of Nature continues unabated. Blossom, the promise of fruit and food, is in abundance this morning!

The Redcurrants are coming…

. What is happening on this earth is crucial to our survival…we need good food, clean water, clean air and a deeper understanding of our Mother Earth. So many writers are beginning to articulate these needs and provide guides for us to be able to start engaging… Bealtaine is here for all to see and gain from. It is not about ME, no pics of ME…it is about the possible overcoming the improbable, about hope and living a better life WITH this struggling planet.

What will be…heavy droplets of blossom promise heavy bunches of redcurrants, for free!

Flowers on one of the plum trees this morning…there is nothing more delicious to eat when feshly harvested from your own trees. These should be planted in every town and village in Ireland, for all to eat and enjoy!

And cherries…lots and lots of sweet cherries…councils should be urged to plant fruit trees in public spaces…why on EARTH not?

Blossom is beautiful, it lifts the spirit and feeds the soul. The fruit that follows feeds all, including the birds. Perfect!
