Midsummer Rising

Bealtaine Cottage, Ireland

Farewell Bealtaine!

Rising on the last morning of Bealtaine and looking out the window of the lodge to be greeted by mist and sunshine.

www.bealtainecottage.comThe heat of yesterday rose in a mist over the valley and mountains beyond.

www, bealtainecottage.comRising towards Midsummer is a most magical time in the west of Ireland.

Between the rain and the sun, the jigs and the reels, the land has grown a mantle of green.

www.bealtainecottage.comFestivals are held in every village as birds, from thousands of mile away, fly low over the feeding grounds of this small island.www.bealtainecottage.comMidsummer customs prevail in much of Europe and certainly here in Ireland, where the traditional bonfire is part of the celebration.

www.bealtainecottage.comThe fire is lit exactly at sunset on the eve of the solstice and celebrations continue until sunset on the solstice itself.

A Simple Life

Bealtaine Cottage, Ireland

a real sofa bedThis is a real sofa bed.

It’s a bed, with a cover and lots of cushions.

sitting roomI needed another sofa in my sitting room.

Simple.

No fuss.

Looks good and is inter-changeable.

Cost: zero!

Mosaic mirrorMost of what I have in my home cost zero.

Like this fancy mirror above the mantle piece…born from broken mirrors and turned into a mirror mosaic.

Cost: zero.

The mantle piece cost 50 euros in a second-hand furniture shop.

mosaic floorThe simplicity of living, almost cash free, is liberating and allows one to appreciate everything that comes ones way.

Like this mosaic floor, created from broken tiles, throw-a ways from a consumer driven society.

mosaic floorLife within the shop-till-you-drop, over-burdened, corporate-controlled madness that passes as culture, is beginning to wane.

Crystal Energy

DSC09132For millennia, ancient peoples have harnessed the power of crystals, using this power to release mental, physical and spiritual blockages.

This was done to  facilitate the free flow of throughout the body.

I have used crystals for many decades and especially here at Bealtaine Cottage.

DSC09169You will have seen crystals whirling from trees across the gardens and hanging in windows around the cottage.

I have always been aware of the power of crystals in bringing energy, especially the free-flow of energy to my own environment.

DSC09147On a cellular level, our bodies and quartz crystal are both made up of mineral silicon-dioxide.

Because of this, we are naturally receptive to the vibrations of crystals as they transmit, reflect, store light and receive energy.

DSC09135When crystals are placed directly on your body, they have a powerful vibratory effect that surges from the crystal to you.

As we enter into a new Age, all that was before will begin to break down.

DSC09153Those who are aware of the changes taking place, will seek to develop their consciousness, realizing that much of what we are is related to energy.

DSC09162The importance of energy is now being revealed to us, as we move away from the strictures that bind.

According to the law of physics, thoughts direct energy and energy follows thought.

DSC09177I use crystal energy pieces to serve as a tool to help the thoughts of my own consciousness connect with the environment I have sought to create here at Bealtaine Cottage. Many refer to this as manifestation.

The energy at Bealtaine is surely charged by many forms, including the good wishes of visitors to the gardens.

It is evident to me that the many crystals whirring and spiralling from trees across the Gardens of Bealtaine are indeed a part of that wonderful energy force, capturing energy and feeding this back into the land, air and water.

I am offering a small number of these crystals for sale.

Each crystal has a hole drilled top and bottom, so you can add other precious stones in droplet form if you so wish.

DSC09175Each one will be wrapped in fresh Sphagnum Moss taken from the land here, as a unique way of preserving the integrity of the crystal.

Every part of the moss is permeated with minute tubes and spaces, resulting in a system of delicate capillary tubes, having the effect of a very fine sponge.

The cells readily absorb water and retain it.

The water can be squeezed out, but the Moss does not collapse and is ready to take in fluid again.

The plant is not dependent on soil water, but also absorbs moisture from the atmosphere, and is laden throughout with water retained in its delicate cells.

Gaia,
you who cradle uranium and the rose
in your arms–
in this vast mysterious universe,
my very bones belong to you.

You witness my love affair
with the tall grass, wind, fox:
my senses–your holy communion.

I stand on your soil
in sunlight, starlight, moonlight,
rain, eclipse and earthquake,
offering a timeless prayer.

I walk in the spirit of you.

Earth Day at Bealtaine Cottage

DSC09083Photographs (18 exclusive photos taken today) from the gardens of Bealtaine Cottage on EarthDay 2016.

Words from the Earth Day network…on Bealtaine Cottage Good Life.

We are now entering the 46th year of a movement that continues to inspire, challenge ideas, ignite passion, and motivate people to action.

In 1970, the year of our first Earth Day, the movement gave voice to an emerging consciousness, channelling human energy toward environmental issues. Forty-six years later, we continue to lead with ground-breaking ideas and by the power of our example.

And so it begins. Today. Right here and right now. Earth Day is more than just a single day — April 22, 2016.

This Earth Day and beyond, let’s make big stuff happen. Let’s plant 7.8 billion trees for the Earth. Let’s divest from fossil fuels and make cities 100% renewable.

The main website, with over 1,000 blogs and 4,500 photographs is FREE FOR EVERYONE!
There are NO ADS on Bealtaine Cottage YouTube channel either!
