Evolve or Revolve…It’s Time to Choose

I don’t know about you, but for the past decade or so I have felt a powerful force at work all round me. I have seen it too! It is a Universal force of such incredible energy that at times, I feel overwhelmed by it. This force has made governments tremble and grown men cry. It is unstoppable, all-consuming and, at times, can appear very frightening indeed. Mankind has tried to tame it, harness it, even destroy it. All to no avail. She abides… Have you heard her call? Are you listening? Her name is Earth. She is our Mother,…

Garden to Visit in Ireland…Unique…Permaculture!

Yesterday was a busy day for me as I worked tirelessly in the gardens, cutting, clearing and ensuring all the paths are open for visitors. I always carry my camera with me, so here are some of the shots I took on my walk around after I’d finished my work! It was a hard day, but, as you can see, well worth it. I continue today and will share pics later on! Love and Blessings XXX Colette at Bealtaine Cottage To arrange a visit to Bealtaine Cottage and the 3 acre Permaculture Garden created by one woman from monoculture land,…

Simple Living

“We’d incorporated Asia into our bones – its colours and laughter, its smells, its rhythms, its tolerance and patience, its compassion, its lack of ageism.” ~ Jane Wilson-Howarth Colour is important to me, as you can see from both the cottage and the garden. I am led to infuse it into my daily life, as in the tie-dyed sheet that hangs as a curtain on the old doorway. Sometimes it’s all too easy to go to the shops and buy what is deemed suitable for covering a doorway…usually a door! But, as always, a cottage can be very forgiving and accommodating to whatever…

Midsummer Vigil

The wall is silence, the grass is sleep, Tall trees of peace their vigil keep, And the Fairy of Dreams with moth-wings furled Plays soft on her flute to the drowsy world. ~Ida Rentoul Outhwaite And as the seasons come and go, here’s something you might like to know. There are fairies everywhere: under bushes, in the air, playing games just like you play, singing through their busy day. So listen, touch, and look around — in the air and on the ground. And if you watch all nature’s things, you might just see a fairy’s wing. ~Author Unknown  I…

Envisioning the “Impossible”

Envisioning the end is enough to put the means in motion.  ~Dorothea Brande Many people ask me, time and again, “Where did you begin planting, Colette?” “Did you have a plan?” The answer is simple, as is much of what I do and how I live my life…no plans, just a vision! The power of envisioning is just beginning to be understood. Much has been said about this process and, as yet, we have only a small level of understanding how it works, but the process of manifestation is a powerful one indeed.  Dreaming is the first step to becoming. …

Today at Bealtaine Cottage

Rain fell last night and continues this morning. There will be no lack of water in the well for the next few weeks! I have finally given away my hens…as I no longer eat eggs and there was a lovely home ready and waiting for them where they would be more useful, as they are good layers and their eggs will be anticipated and appreciated where there is a family of people to eat them. I shall miss them, but as with life at Bealtaine Cottage, the void is quickly filled and the hen-house will be re-purposed and appreciated further. In the…
