A Decision Regarding My Books…

  1. Hi Colette, thank you for your work & sharing it on your blog.
Do you sell the t-shirt with the cat “ I drink coffee, I read books …..” please

  2. Good morning Collette.
I understand completely. Just as your land and self evolve, so must the way business is done evolve. I have always wanted to follow your example when it came to publishing and selling books but simply couldn’t afford the initial financial investment (including postage). I have been using Draft 2 Digital for books longer than a guide book length and using my social media for marketing. I know you have been so careful to avoid commercial avenues as far as possible to keep your income streams as environmentally and humanly considerate as possible but don’t feel you are betraying your values by changing how you do that. Needs must. I will continue to love what you do and find inspirations from your efforts.

  3. It is understandable regarding your book decision Colette and it makes sense so I hope it works out for you. I think I’ll order my first book from you shortly. Paul (Ribble Valley, Lancashire)

  4. The T-shirt is lovely.
Everything seems to be exponentially soaring.
Except hugs from grandchildren and the love of “furry” family.
The artifact sounds absolutely delicious !
    Is it the cauldron?
    Blessings X

  5. Hi Collette – I use the print-on-demand company Lulu.com here in the US. My customers tell me they are very pleased with Lulu.com Lulu does have printing partners in the UK. I know there are print-on-demand distributors based in the UK, I don’t know what they are. Lulu.com, a small company, is recognized as a good workplace with good envio records. Atticus writing software may help you convert your manuscripts to formats that are useful for Lulu.com and others. Hope this is helpful. Best of luck to you. A faithful reader.

  6. Dear Colette

I can absolutely understand your dilemma.
But then I have to quickly order the books I want in paper form. Because I can’t do anything with the digital books. I need to feel a book and be able to write notes in it. And I’m happy to pay the postage.

Can I order this T-shirt at the same time? It’s so funny.

    Greetings from Switzerland

  7. Books – It has to be done. And I must get round to buying a book or two!

The beautiful colours of autumn in your garden. We’re reaching the end of the intense colour now in SE England, the vineyard I walk in several times a week has gone from bright red with the grapes still hanging to bare twigs in the space of a month. This past week seems to have been never ending dull grey, damp and misty, I’m longing for a glimpse of blue sky. However, I used to get very depressed in the dark months but now I am older I’m learning to embrace it, walks in the silvery grey light, coming home to a cozy fire, book and warming drink (hooked on chai made with real spices), warming seasonal winter foods oh how I love a stew with dumplings!

  8. Makes sense Colette 👍🫶🏽
Look forward to your next video, wow, should be amazing! Thanks 🫶🏽

  9. Colette, Thanks for sharing this concern. I certainly understand. It’s always been a joy to receive your books/stickers, and now I have each one and am still reading.

  10. Dear Colette,

How interesting that you were able to find a possible ancient artifact on your own property. Whatever it will turn out to be, it’s a treasure you found on your own land, and that is awesome.

My husband visited Switzerland, our home country, together with our daughter. With all the pictures they sent me, I made three small photo albums. One for my husband, another for our daughter and one for the family overseas.

So here I went to our small post office in the US. First, the lady charged me $50.-!!! I responded that can not be. Another postal worker then calibrated their scales, which were obviously way off. But they still charged me $35.- for this tiny album. This just blew my mind. I really wanted them to have these memories, so I swallowed the bullet.

But the story doesn’t end here. I have a 3 page printout of all the towns my little gift visited, it even went to Tokyo, Japan!!! This post lady must have made a huge mistake. My sister- in-law received her album about 2 months later……………..Can you only believe this!

Go ahead and do what is best for you with your precious books. You have got to eat:)

I do enjoy all your videos and your chats. Even when you get aggravated about our world. Can you only imagine how I feel right now in this country. It would be so nice to live in the woods and not ever have to hear about the ugly news anymore. I am only shaking my head.

I am sending a warm hug and blessings to you and your lovely furry family member.

  11. I think we will all understand we’re your coming from, I was posting 2 small parcels at the post office last week, came to £23+ I was so shocked

  12. Loved the podcast! I look forward to hearing you chat on more! Blessings, Linda x

  13. I completely understand this, Colette, and it seems like a necessity to me. The price for everything is almost prohibitive these days and few are the people who can live as they did even four years ago. Much love to you and Patsy xox

  14. I have all your books and will gladly pay for any new books. I don’t care what the price is as they are magical to me!

  15. Selling online has become so prohibitive due to postal fees. Selling through systems like Amazon provide mere pennies for the authors from what one author told us.

  16. Thank you so much for keeping us abreast of the situation! You are a Beacon of Light in these dark times; and an inspiration in personal and environmental integrity!! But most of us are having to adapt to the times. The postage in the States is off the hook, as well. We understand! Continued love and blessings to you and sweet, little Patsy!! Can’t wait to hear more about your discovery!! P.S. Love your podcasts!!

  17. Hello from South Carolina! I’m sharing with you my happiness that I bought your books years ago when you first wrote them. I enjoy them immensely. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. Blessings to you!

  18. Dearest Colette – I’m so sorry to hear about the postage issue. Yes, it has gone up everywhere in the world, as has the cost of everything. I for one would gladly pay increased postage for your books. While I try to buy “everything” from my local shops (or do without) there are times when I must have something shipped to my little, remote part of the world and I pay whatever shipping costs are necessary, that is how it should be for your books too. There is something so wonderful about holding a book in my hands, its feel, its smell, the comfort it gives when settling in for a good read. I’m going to order more of your books to give to friends. I’m ordering 3 but please only send 2 and keep the extra money for the increased postage. Blessings to you dear one and Patsy too!!!
