Walking

I have been away for a few days, visiting my granddaughters in Belfast, and now happily back home and taking Patsy for a walk. She has been in the kennels for a few days. As an ardent cat chaser, I cannot take her with me to Belfast as my daughter has a very old cat.
Walking Patsy is always a great time to think and ponder on recent events.

What comes to mind is probably the same as many of you are thinking about too, that is the rising chaos and uncertainty that appears to be ahead of us.

As the matriarch of my family it is important for me to be a stabilising influence on those I care for. To this end I must focus on reassuring my children and grandchildren that all will be well. It is difficult at times when one is aware of world events and all the nonsensical witterings of politicians.
It really does seem that nothing makes sense anymore! We appear to be living in an upside down clown world! So, as you can imagine, the world my children have inherited from my generation seems quite unfathomable and outside of all logical sense!
However, I know from my own experience in life that this too will pass.

There is a new world being birthed and with all new life comes great hope. I have great hope for the future and have more confidence in my children’s generation than most people.

I will continue to support them and guide them to the best of my ability and try to show them by example, how to live a good and productive life. in the meantime, I will be living as good a life as I can invoke and taking Patsy for long walks in the countryside! Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the day that’s in it! Blessings XXX Colette and Patsy

  1. I too have a sense of hope in the future. The US has become a side show for the rest of the world…a dangerous one at that. I find solace in nature, my dog and my friends and family.

  2. It’s wonderful to hear that you had a visit with your family in Belfast, Colette. In these insane times, our mothering instincts urge us to draw our babies closer. I am feeling the same way.

  3. Hi Collete, I have followed you for a while now. Thank you for bravely sharing your views on the current situation in Palestine which I share and for your wisdom and hope for the future.

  4. Hello, I wanted to reach out and tell you how much I appreciate your videos. I’ve been watching for a very long time. Your property is so beautiful. I have a small backyard and have been growing more and more each year, both flowers and edibles. I’m slowly trying to replace the grass with plants.

I feel much like you, the more crazy issues there are in the world, the more time I spend growing. This, in my opinion, puts more positivity in the world.

    Keep spreading the positivity!

    Enjoy your day!

  5. Thank you so much for this encouraging word, Colette. It lifts my hopes and calms my nerves. You have created such a place as is being birthed. Thank you for this.

  6. The whole world is going through birth pangs. There is so much pain and suffering, death and destruction, natural and unnatural events that my head is spinning. It keeps me in a state of constant prayer. I worry about my son and his family.the veil has thinned and we are seeing evil at its core.as an empath, my mind seems to explode at times and I cry often when I see the things going on.all I can say is keep your circle tight, eyes open and pray like never before. 💔

  7. Thank you for this post! It is 5:35am here in the Pacific Northwest of America, and I’m wishing all a peaceful Sunday. The world is insane, but we must go on and hold the lamp of reason high as we navigate toward a better future. Resist the tyrants.

  8. Wishing you a wonderful SunDay Collette! Your wonderful garden shows us that we should always have hope because nature shows us hope and regeneration. A cutting I took from a rose in spring, budded and is now blooming nicely!

  9. Hello Colette I love watching you & miss patsy I have been with you for quite some time, when the boy walked with you and you had the beautiful cats also. When I first found you were my sanctuary of sanity and still are. I forget the state of this mad world and delight in your woodland and I understand just where you are coming from with so many things. Your Rants are wonderful as I agree you.Best to stay well clear of MSM they lie just like all governments. believe what you see with your own eyes. Keep Mother Earth cared for be kind to all who deserve it. Sod the rest

  10. Life in the USA is sad due to the Last administration and their agenda, which is totally about them. But the Federal Gov is getting turned around, with many thanks. I pray for America, so many countries depend on our people, the most generous ever.

  11. Writing from the U.S. here. Ah—how I hope you are right! To wake up every day to the constant assault of Trump is soul-daunting, indeed! The changes he has instigated would make you cry. Thank you for your words of hope…I feel better now, and am determined to help kick him to the curb in 3 & a half years! A better future glimmers!🤗

  12. If I ever get to Ireland , I would love to visit you
We likely have similar interests and ideas
    Thankyou for your posts

  13. I am in my late 70s, I feel the world has been in chaos for a while.
I agree, as a matriarch too.
I have huge garden, orchard, veges ,etc.
Plant trees on land round me.

Love what you do and have done.

  14. In 2008 I gave up the tv… And cable, I stoped listening to the controlled media…and started doing my own research on anything I question!!!

Needless to say, my family I grew up with…not on the same road I have been on, I have always traveled the less traveled road…I never followed the heard even in school!

Thank you for being who you are. Colette❤️🌸❤️

  15. Colette you talk such sense, but we both know to keep a big bright beacon of light is so very powerful in a fear based world. You are a tonic and an uplifter, remember that. X

  16. Hello Colette- For once I don’t have a concrete opinion regarding the direction the worlds is heading. I feel like I am in Alice in 🎩🐇🌹 Wonderland. I enjoyed the book, but I do not want to live in it ! Everything seems a bit surreal. I am staying close within my farm community and making that my world for the moment. No desire to travel except on You Tube. Summer here has finally shone some beautiful weather to New Hampshire. Meeting each new day with gratitude and hope.

  17. Thank you for the lovely photos. You are living the dream!

This is definitely not the world we intended leaving to our children. It’s hard to be positive when 250 years of democracy is crumbling all around us, when cruelty rules. Not sure there is a way back because when the law is gone, when elections are suspended or who knows what, there’s not much that can be done. We are not dealing with decent, honorable people on both sides anymore. That’s the old way of thinking about politics. Right now, there is no glimmer of hope that republicans will come back to reality, decency and integrity.

We moved to a small town a few years ago. It’s quiet(er) and there is a darker sky at night. We have a beautiful garden, complete with standing stones! All of that contributes to our mental health. We share our zucchini with our neighbors and sometimes it comes back as zucchini bread.

Our small town had a lovely protest on No Kings Day. It was joyful. Like minded, kind people all together for a few hours. We are in desperate need for good news.

  18. Absolutely 👍 Don’t buy into the media. Be aware of what’s happening and send love. And give our energy and our focus to the here and now of our own ‘now’. And notice the beauty.

  19. Yes, I agree with you, I too have confidence in the upcoming generation. This indeed is a transitional time globally.
Your garden and home are looking their best at this time, congratulations.

  20. We are going through a rough patch in history. Those of us in the USA fear for our freedoms and those of our neighbors. Here in Los Angeles, California we feel we are being occupied by a foreign govt, although in name it is our own military presence we see. On a positive note, I see our community coming together to support one another and we are coming up with ways to peacefully resist. It’s the people who will finally prevail, I think. The people lead by the matriarchs will win in the end. After all, there are more of us who just want to live our lives in peace in our communities with family and friends, and we have more power to overcome oppression and greed in all its forms than even we realize at times. Stay well and stay strong. ❤️

  21. Absolutely, life can overwhelm you if you let it thank you for your positive attitude Collette x

  22. I agree with you completely! An amazing new world is coming. One that feels almost magical where Love will reign supreme. That new world needs to be birthed into being and the birthing process is not easy. Before our children and grandchildren incarnated part of their soul contract was to be here for this process. Inwardly they are well equipped, and those inner qualities need to be nurtured and strengthened by us. All of nature is evolving along with our Blessed Mother Earth. We’re seeing people choosing sides, darkness/greed/cruelty/lack of empathy and compassion/narcissism, or Love/kindness/generosity/compassion/empathy/self-sacrificing. Blessings to you, Patsy and all who follow our path!

  23. I remember, years ago, driving through Algonquin Provincial park. It was a logging road, so narrow and gravel and very bumpy so we had to drive slowly (we were taking a load of people and canoes into a drop-off spot)…the sky was a beautiful blue and all you could see was trees and swamp and the occasional moose…squirrels, chipmunks, so many birds and all I could think was “How can things be in such chaos when the world is so beautiful?” That was (way) back in the 90s when things weren’t half as bad as they are now (relatively speaking). Now, I go out into my garden and think the same thing. Where there’s life, there’s hope…and I agree, this all needs to burn down to the ground so we can rebuild into something far better, far more compassionate. And like any birthing process, it’s going to be painful and bloody….but worth it for the gift on the other side.

  24. You are so spot on about this changing world. At one point in my journey I came to know a Ute native, Little Bear, he told me to be aware of all things now as everything was going to start spinning faster and confusion would be a plague. That was in 1996. He was right. All we can do is keep fighting the good fight and never lose sight of who we are.

  25. Hello Colette, I bet Patsy was so pleased to see you back and going for a walk together I’m sure was enjoyed by you both. There’s no feeling like coming home after a few days away. Your comment about being a matriarch needing to provide stability for your children got me thinking. I’m very much on your wavelength, I enjoy a simple quiet life and think the world’s bonkers right now. My 30yo son however lives in London, loves it, can’t see anything wrong with the world ant though he hasn’t said as much he probably thinks I’m somewhat paranoid. So we don’t talk about things knowing we’ll probably disagree and that makes me both frustrated and sad because we have always been so close, still are, but it feels like world events are coming between us. Ho hum. It’ll all work itself out for the best, it always does. Love to you and Patsy, enjoy your weekend 😊💚

  26. You are so right! I am also sure that a great future awaits us. If we only believed it ourselves and act accordingly… 🙏
