Storms can be terrifying at the best of times, but the ones we get these days … still, Herself never wastes an oportunity to do a bit of ‘pruning’. 🙂
I love your garden Colette it is so very inspiring, thank you for sharing such beautiful pics.
You work so hard and the results are a real credit to you. Much love Sue xxxx
This is a lovely post Colette. Such beautiful pictures of Mother Nature in abundance! Thank you for sharing this with us xxx
Hi Collette,
It has a lovely refreshed and, hopefully, stable look to it. I was wondering, what has happened to your grapevine? I have quite a few bunches on ours here in the Ribble Valley, Lancashire. Hope you could save it. Paul x
It’s been relocated along with the rose over near the poly tunnel. I will have to erect a climbing frame for it next summer.
Collette, you woodlands and garden are looking d as maxing. Congratulations on all your hard work. Been watching your home grow and evolve and enjoyed every moment.
Peace.
All your hard work has paid off beautifully Colette! Wishing you and Patsy all the best!
Wonderful loving improvements and restorations. Your gardens, home and woodlands are thriving. A true custodian of the land. Beautiful and courageous.

Finding sanctuary is important work and joy. Blessings Colette and Patsy. You encourage me to keep calm and carry on to weather any storm in good health and confidence that good will always prevail. The website is safe and we love it there.
Yes, awful times. The world has lost it’s moral compass, so like minded people who meet here must stick together. Good work & enjoy the blackcurrants.
I have followed you since the beginning of you journey. You home and garden are a credit to you and inspiration to all who follow your lovely programmes.
The fruits of your labours are looking good Colette thank you for sharing them. đź’•

As an Irish pagan/druid /bean feasa/bean fáidh( I didn’t follow the Welsh path) ,integrity is our core , to quote part of the Gorsedd “and in knowledge, the knowledge of justice ,And in the knowledge of justice the Love of it”
How can ” I stand back watching but doing nothing ” I love justice & truth what we are watching is a livestream genocide I cannot stay silent I will not be silenced.
As a child of the “troubles ” how the hell could I. Urraim for taking a stand.

Dear Colette, Your home and gardens are beautiful! The new cover over your porch looks great! You have so many great ideas for decorating and gardening! Love to you and Patsy!

Thank you for the beautiful updates on your work around the cottage and gardens, Colette. I miss your videos, but I understand. This is a heartbreaking time in so many ways. We must all find the light and hope wherever we can. Your example of living independently and alongside Mother Earth is a lesson in finding strength and doing good amidst the chaos being fomented by “leaders.” (Hah. That word is used with all the sarcasm and disgust I can muster.)
Your website is also my sanctuary.
Beautiful work. Love your home. Thank you for showing it to us.
I can’t watch the news but I’m doing my best to foil their efforts by consuming very little.
Many congratulations to you on how you have coped in dealing with these natural disasters. We seem to be living in an increasingly dangerous worls and it behoves all of us to learn to respond with courage and determination. Sending love and blessings. xxx
May Mother Earth restore and heal this world. Thank you for your gift of being one with Nature with all of us. Thank you.
The whole place is looking great! I love how clean and healthy everything is. Your new veranda is so open and bright, delightful. You’re wise to do what you can now before any extreme weather comes in the future…it will. My big project this summer has been putting in a series of drainpipes to catch and carry away the water that runs off the property of the neighbor behind me. I’m now in good shape. Blessings to you dear Colette and Patsy too!
Hi Collett,
I totally understand, in Los Angles here . The city of Angles has and is having a fight for dignity , life and liberty . Due justice for all and protecting our neighbors from abductions . Prayers for you and all those around the world who are suffering from greed , corruption, and plain evil . Love to you and all . Thank you for staying and speaking up . As we all must do .
Your cottage and woodland bring so many of us so much joy, Colette. Everything you touch seems to flourish. I know you have been down, depressed, and worried and I hope your spirit will be uplifted some knowing what joy you bring to others. I remember when I first started watching you (when Covid started) I could not get over the beauty of your floor and the beautiful mirror above your fireplace…. Thank you for sharing your life, your Woodland, and your cottage with us… You are very much appreciated and I hope you start feeling better. 🙏🏼❤️
Blessings to you and Patsy!
This website is my sanctuary too. You are probably impatient with gushing praise from one who does not know you, but praise you I will. I am grateful that you live in this holy mess of a world at the same time I do. You create such beauty in so many ways! Your gardens and woodland, and the videos and photographs sharing that beauty with us. Your jewelry, your knitting, your writing….
Thank you very much, Nancy. I have always enjoyed sharing and maybe even inspiring other people to see the world as a place of great beauty.
Dear Colette, I’ve been “with you” through many years now, and remember how you have made your repairs with your roof being a major undertaking for you. I am so glad to see how you have been able to accomplish that and that you are now able to reinforce yourself and your home for the future. You have been such an example for me through the years and have made me feel that I would live in a simple way and have my needs fulfilled. You show me that I can make my surroundings beautiful as well as practical. You look so beautiful, standing strong there at Bealtaine Cottage. Sending love and peace your way!
Thank you, Irene.
I have loved your YouTube channel for many years. But also, like you, I must take a break from things when they get to be too much for me. Not to worry, I will be back. I always come back.
Peace & Love to you Colette.
I completely understand in more ways than you can imagine. Everything seems upside down and back to front!
So glad to read this, Colette. I fully understand the position. Many blessings to you and Patsy. Linda xx
Dear Colette! I follow your writings from Hungary and we can only communicate via translator. Even here in Central Europe, there can be severe storms, hardly any rain, it is very hot, summer is difficult for animals, people and plants. I hope you manage to repair the damage and renew your garden. We do it all the time:))) Love: Zsuzsa
I once sat in a little café on the banks of the great river Danube in Budapest with someone dearly loved. Beautiful memories.
I was almost scared to read your post for fear of what you would say….but am much relieved to see how wonderfully you have dealt with the storm destruction, and how hopeful your post is. Bealtaine Cottage is so beautiful—a feast for the eyes and the soul. Blessings be yours as we all navigate this era of chaotic change and, I hope, create positive growth.
Those with good heart, compassion and love will rise like a Phoenix to the challenges we all face. Challenge is good for it helps us to evolve and move forward.
Blessings to you too Colette and patsy, lovely to see your beautiful photos of such a lovely sanctuary. Blessings Ve and dogs x
I love your indomitable spirit and your ability to drink from life with a glass half full. I cried after you were hit with the storm, watching your video of the aftermath. We have a 300 year old oak tree only only two meters from the house, and we are considering having it taken down, although it feels like killing an elder. Its mate fell on the house 12 years ago with little damage. Very strong lumber in the 120 year old house. But if another falls, would we be so fortunate? Thank you for your continued inspiration.
Trees don’t seem to mind being pollarded. I know it can be expensive, but if it is at all affordable in these hard times then it’s worth considering. In this way a tree can be brought down to under half its height and more for at the end of the day it is the root system which is important to preserve.
Storms (in both personal life & my garden) have necessitated much change here in my home on Lake Erie in the USA too. You’re doing a beautiful restoration job and I’m fully aware of how much effort that takes. Your challenges help me face my own! Blessings to you and Patsy!
Change and challenge make strong women and good men!
🌻🍀Blessings!
It’s been a while since I’ve engaged with your website, a follower for a decade. Lovely to see your online sanctuary ❤️ You describe climate adaptability well.
We had a lot of structural damage after Éowyn, too, but the results were repairs we didn’t realise we needed on an old roof. Costly, but necessary, and we are able to face the next round of gales pretty certain that we won’t lose more chimney pots!
I’m sorry for your losses; every one of which must have felt very personal. But Nature abhors a vacuum. All that new growth will be a delight in years to come.
I am very inspired by the challenges and the changes they produce! It’s all good and actually quite exciting too!
Liebe Colette
Blessings and Greetings from Daggy Kiel Germany and for Patsy a big hug
In this chaotic time that makes your mind spin, keep busy and enjoy the day at your cottage. Your website is the only place that embraces peace in the digital world.
The cottage looks absolutely splendid! So warm and welcoming!
As always beautiful and inspiring ✨️
