Knitting Pattern

A special post for those of you who have shown interest in my knitting project.

Knitting Pattern
Measure neck and add looseness to measurements!

Knit a long rectangle in stocking stitch according to measurements.

This one was knitted using size 9 needles and chunky wool.

A great starter project for a learner! this one was knitted using size 5 needles and Aran wool.

Decide on depth as you knit! I knit one lower side longer than the other by about 10 stitches. This allows the scarf to sit easily on the lower neck/chest.

I have knit quite a few of these as I find them beneficial for my general health, especially when working in my woodland.

Cast off and stitch both ends. Simple pattern, adjust with wool, colour, stitches etc. 😊

Happy knitting!

  1. A beautiful skein of wool yarn and a simple pattern make for a satisfying evening (or morning) knitting. Such a gratifying piece of art to warm the soul.

  2. Hi Collette, I love the knitting pattern and its simplicity, yet there is one part of your instructions that I just can’t get my head round!?!😁 It’s the part where you say “extend on one side for 10 inches” – I have a brain freeze!😁 If there’s any chance you could explain it further – as though you’re explaining it to a 2yr old! – I’d really appreciate it. Thank you 😊

  3. Thank you Collete for sending me your introduction knitting project, they’re lovely and it is something I’m interested in trying. I am however, very interested in your planting scheme around your property and hope to discuss this with you at a later time, if you agree? Take care D
