I began a two day basket making workshop today.
Being able to weave baskets fro the huge stocks of willow growing here at Bealtaine has always been a dream for me.
This is the base of the basket.
I am hoping to make lots of baskets during the coming months as I practise the craft.
Inserting the uprights into the base…you need lots of space to do this!
This just a short diary update and will continue tomorrow with the finished project and lots of information!
Like you, I am somewhat intimidated to make baskets from the willow that grow in my garden. Taking a class is a great idea and you have inspired me to take the next step.
By the way, here is a great photography blog I just came across that has some good house ideas from the past and present. I hope you enjoy it: http://www.old-chum.com
Bright Blessings!
Eric
I have arrived home with my basket…am so very proud of my accomplishment! Blogging later!
Thanks for the link and will visit…this evening!

I’m planning on taking a class this winter too! Thanks for sharing your progress…it shows what a beginner can do in only a day š
Love the basket (am particularly fond of the beautiful Willow tree). Look forward to seeing your finished project. Happy Holydays, H.
