So here I was, today, February 15th 2024, looking back on my YT channel of 11 years!
Yes, that long and stuck around 70,000 subscribers for the past year and a half!
Yes, I am being shadow banned by YT…mainly for expressing my views here and there on other channels…views on war and the Military Industrial Complex!
Anyone who is familiar with this website will be aware of my thoughts and passions, for which I offer absolutely NO apology!
Anyway, I hereby offer you, a recording of birdsong from Bealtaine Cottage, with no attachments to YT!!!

I tried uploading it to Patreon, but it did not fit their site…too big a file! I am so glad that I have stayed with my website all these years, as it may be the only platform on the web where I can truly be free!
Isn’t that an incredible thing to say after two world wars fought for democracy and freedom?
Talking of freedom, I would happily live in an old caravan and spend much of my life outdoors in order to be free.
The gypsies of long ago were free people.
So, you may come to find me more on my website than all the so-called “free” platforms!
I don’t believe the promises of the internet…we were told that we’d have unfettered access to all that was good and proper, but instead we are more censored now than we ever have been!
So, I may never reach that elusive 100,000, but it’s not in my nature to succumb to nonsense…my rebel heart says, “stick it!”
Freedom seems to mean different things to different people. Yesterday, a US prepper channel made a video only to complain about being forced to use paper straws instead of his preferred plastic ones. He felt his freedom to use what he enjoys and not have his lips inconvenienced was being compromised by the “green agenda”. And he was very proud his complaints to the establishment where he ate were listened to and they changed back to plastic straws. Myself and several other viewers responded by speaking about how plastic straws hurt wildlife, and I wondered how someone could justify using a plastic straw to drink something for 30 minutes when it can cause so much harm and can take 200 years or more to decompose. Many in the US resent having their freedom to abuse the environment taken away from them. I’m glad you speak out, Collette and hope more will do that.
Hi Colette, as ways to communicate with the outside world have increased, so has the ability and use of visible and invisible censorship, the two go hand in hand. The world has become tiny, and very mean. To hell in a handcart is where its going. Returning to basics is the only route to sanity now. 💚

What a corrupt time we are living in, its all being forced on at a very fast pace. I stand 101% with you, and won’t back down. So glad to be able to read your thoughts on your website. Many other people I follow are having the same problem on u tube, I just don’t know anymore… what kind of a world will our grandchildren live in 🙁 I don’t know if you have heard , now there is a narrative going around saying backyard gardens and compost, and pathways are causing a huge carbon imprint … so you know whats next !!! I’m not familiar with term of “shadow…something?” but YouTube is no longer the innocently free-sharing space it started out as. It seems infected by negative energy and commercial addiction. I use it with caution. I do enjoy Substack, a platform for writers.
Your “Gypsy Camp” – woodland is a marvellous space that you’ve created and share and I love it!
I’m reading Roger Deakin’s “Wildwood, A Journey Through Trees.” In it I read, “The house represents what we ourselves would like to be on earth: permanent, rooted, here for eternity. But a camp represents the true reality of things: we’re just passing through.”
Fabulous so many of us feel the same.
So interesting, I just saw a movie that tackled this very issue…movie called “Circle”.

So True. I have much birdsong at my cottage too which is in a very busy part of a small city. I am so happy to keep on living right so the Goddess Sofia can live.
I have no idea about shadow banning on YouTube as I’ve really stepped away from all social media platforms, as much as possible.
I don’t do Patreon now either. I still follow some on Substack but not sure how much freedom you get there.
The world is nuts. Sometimes I feel as if we are back in medieval times.

You are the second person I follow that has said they are being shadow banned. I find that a very sad state of affairs. As you’ve said- wars were fought for freedoms and it seems like some of those very freedoms are being slowly ripped away.

There are still a few places on the internet that you can use without censorship. You might check out substack, they have fought every request to censor. Rumble and Odessey are youtube like video services that do not censor. Please check those out. The main stream media here is the US is slowly putting itself out of business, as fewer and fewer people want to pay for propaganda.
So please keep speaking your mind and support the services that refuse to censor!

Will someone tells me what is happening? You surely aren’t banned from YouTube. I don’t see how if it’s true. There are you tube people out there scaring people into stockpiling food, because of the up and coming doom, scaring people, there is a channel of a young girl with a eating disorder who is skin and bones making money from her channel fishing people in to see if she has died yet. I hope it’s not true and I find another video soon.

I got shadow banned, too. My new YouTube channel (a year old) was going gangbusters with new subscribers until I started talking about peace in two videos. Can’t have that! All of a sudden the algorithm isn’t even showing my videos more than once or twice per hour. Oh, well. The people who need to find them will … and I got a good book idea as soon as I decided not to worry about YouTube.

I was, but am no longer, online a great deal…I have a chronic long term illness so I am homebound a lot. I love my garden especially all the wildlife I support and I also love my Facebook friends but I’m having to retreat away from the social media aspect because I just can’t handle all the stresses and worries of this modern world. All the wars and disputes and ‘mad’ decisions being made just make me angry and I’m tired of being angry…being angry and sick just doesn’t make for a good life so I have chosen happiness. It’s taken me a long long time to begin thinking of myself (well my husband too) but I am determined to put us first in whatever timescale I have left to me.
I focus on my home being comfortable, clean and filled with peace. We craft together daily, we laugh and we spend quality time with each other every single day…never getting bored of each others company. That’s enough for me. The world can look after itself…I don’t have any more fight left in me. I appreciate people like you who speak up about the injustices of the world Collette…that used to be, so thank you for continuing to raise awareness in a world filled with people who just seem not to care.x
