Staying Free in a Big Brother World

So here I was, today, February 15th 2024, looking back on my YT channel of 11 years!

Yes, that long and stuck around 70,000 subscribers for the past year and a half!

Yes, I am being shadow banned by YT…mainly for expressing my views here and there on other channels…views on war and the Military Industrial Complex!

Anyone who is familiar with this website will be aware of my thoughts and passions, for which I offer absolutely NO apology!

Anyway, I hereby offer you, a recording of birdsong from Bealtaine Cottage, with no attachments to YT!!!

Birdsong At Bealtaine Cottage, Recorded Live Today!

You can listen to this as you peruse the images and read the text…enjoy!

I tried uploading it to Patreon, but it did not fit their site…too big a file! I am so glad that I have stayed with my website all these years, as it may be the only platform on the web where I can truly be free!

Isn’t that an incredible thing to say after two world wars fought for democracy and freedom?

Talking of freedom, I would happily live in an old caravan and spend much of my life outdoors in order to be free.

The gypsies of long ago were free people.

So, you may come to find me more on my website than all the so-called “free” platforms!

I don’t believe the promises of the internet…we were told that we’d have unfettered access to all that was good and proper, but instead we are more censored now than we ever have been!

So, I may never reach that elusive 100,000, but it’s not in my nature to succumb to nonsense…my rebel heart says, “stick it!”

  1. I absolutely love that you’re doing more on the website. I deleted all my social media some time back and have felt better ever since and find this way of slow information so much more enjoyable.

Keep at it Collette! You’re changing the world for the better.

  2. I was inspired by you to be more self reliant and move away from the madness in the world. I am retiring at the end of April, I have an allotment and a beehive in my garden. I cook from scratch and preserve or store much of my produce. I recently joined a chicken co-operative at another allotment site so in return for paying for food and cleaning the girls out once a week I get the eggs that day and other people do the other days an excellent way of getting fresh eggs from very happy hens. All of this was inspired by you. I learned to spin and to weave so I can create fabric not to mention knitting and crochet. I also recycle fabric using patchwork and sashiko. I have never been so happy every day it is like being a child again going out to play. So thank you, you helped me though lockdown and let me know another way was possible.

  3. Yes Colette, I can understand you very well.
The real rebel needs a humble heart and cannot be forced into any mold. Patience and undimanding are required if you really want to be free in this day and age.
One of my favorite quotes from Hermann Hesse:
“If you want to go to the source, you have to swim against the current.”

    Warm gypsy greetings from Switzerland…

  4. Hi Collette

Yes, we are living in an awful political climate in the West, it has become rather sinister and saddens me deeply. I long for the same lifestyle as yours, Collette, living alongside the flora and fauna of the natural world; you have created a lovely patch of tranquility on your land. Peace be with you!

  5. Thank you Colette for the beautiful birdsong; images from your garden; and absolute sanity and courage in such a strange world. The work you do is inspirational and nourishing. xx

  6. Thank you so much, Collette, for this wonderful gift you’ve given us today, of the beautiful birdies singing in your magical garden. So lovely to hear the birds, really gladdens my heart and uplifts my spirits. And, yes, I too would happily live off grid in a caravan if I could. I don’t like living in this world, so it’s so refreshing to see your blog posts on here, and watch your YT channel. Keep up your nature friendly planting, and caring for the abundant wildlife you have encouraged into your garden, it’s really inspirational. And I love watching the antics of dear little Patsy. Thank you again for sharing. Blessings to you. 💕🌻🦋

  7. Oh, how absolutely lovely , Collette. I’m so glad you have kept your own blog website open too, such a refreshing change to read uncensored material. Thank you so much for these glorious birdies singing away in your magical garden, so beautiful to hear, and keep up your nature helping works, and your tree planting, and yes, I too would live in a caravan off grid if I could, I don’t like living in these times, at all !! ” Stop the World, I want to get off! ” 🙂🌻💕

  8. I’ll gladly follow you here instead of any mainstream platform! This post is true to my heart 💕 and to scroll through listening to birdsong…. well…. let’s just say, you Madamoiselle Collette brighten my day!!

  9. Spring Greetings – Love this recording and the garden photos – Divine. Thank you Colette. Only the good.

  10. Colette, I agree with Pam in that you are very dear to your followers and we followers of yours, are of like minds. In a world where very little makes sense and so very much of it is cruel, there is Mother Nature….always.

  11. Dear Colette,
I had an album in the 70s called Environments & one side was birds and other side was ocean waves. This reminds me of that. Staying close to nature with a peaceful spirit is the way to go, you will always have a beautiful following because you are special & loved and Patsy too.
