The new sign at Bealtaine Cottage, alongside a more important one…”No Fracking!”
Time to advertise what it is we stand for!
The power of advertising is immense.
Corporations and governments allocate massive amounts of money each year to get their messages of suppression and control across to the public.
However, we have the access to advertising ourselves, if we decide to use our windows, cars, front doors, entrances to propagate our messages…what a load of free advertising space!
On Saturday 25th May, there is a worldwide March Against Monsanto, taking place in all major cities.
If Monsanto is allowed to pimp it’s wares, as it does so successfully to central governments, then pictures such as this, the bee on Lunaria in the permaculture gardens of Bealtaine Cottage, will be rare indeed!
Here in Ireland, marches are taking place in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Clare…with more being added.
WE NEED EVERYONES HELP
WE ARE ASKING ALL ANTI GMO, ANTI MONSANTO, PRO NATURE, PRO HEALTH, PRO ENVIRONMENT, ANTI CHEMICAL POLLUTION, PRO ORGANIC, FACEBOOK PAGES WEBSITES, BLOGS, NEWS CHANNELS, AND NEWSPAPERS TO GET BEHIND THIS MOVEMENT. WE HAVE JUST A FEW WEEKS LEFT. LETS ALL WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE THIS A HISTORY MAKING EVENT. THIS IS OUR MARCH, ALL OF US, THE WORLD UNITED AGAINST SELFISH GREED THAT WOULD DESTROY OUR HEALTH AND THE PLANET IN ITS PATH.

Butterflies are making a welcome appearance here in the permaculture gardens, with this lovely little Speckled Wood (Pararge aegeria) making an appearance this morning.
It settled for a little sunbathing on the Ribes hedge near the Fairy Wood.
The apple trees continue to make a big show of blossom as it all opens to attract the busy bees.
It’s sunny and bright this morning, but appears to be clouding over as the day progresses.
I will be marching against Monsanto in Sligo on Saturday 25th May.
The march begins with a rally at the corner of O’Connell and Grattan Streets at 1pm.
Bealtaine Cottage is also on YouTube…with over 110 videos about Permaculture, planting, growing and living.
Over 550 blogs from Bealtaine Cottage in the archives here.
Thank you for supporting this blog
I wonder if we will yet again get the same problem of a blackout on media coverage. I’ve been on two marches in London which got a very small mention in the Guardian. I wrote to the BBC in disgust and was told that there were insufficient people on the march for them to report it. I have always supported the BBC as a corporation that would report the news, I now think differently.
The BBC, like RTE and other western media state broadcasters, have sadly lost their integrity, sacrificed on the altar of corporate control of the masses and usurpation of democracy therein.
Really glad you posted the bit about the May demonstration. NYState is embroiled in this controversy and have to fight every inch of the way to keep the gas companies out of our State.
When it comes to Monsanto, I don’t know whether you caught the results of this case about the farmer who tried to use soy beans from a granary vs buying from Monsanto. He was subsequently taken to court by same. Here is the link to results. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/05/indiana-farmer-loses-battle-against-monsanto/
I suspect with the state of the economy and the state of American farms, there are going to be more farmers rebelling against Monsanto!
Your segway into the garden was a wonderful, peaceful leap… bj
I believe the farmer in question is faced with a bill of over $84,000!
This is an utter disgrace and should alert the American people as to how their government is corrupted by corporations, for, after all, seed is bestowed upon us by the Divine and no court of law should give a patent on seed!
This flies in the face of the Creator!
For myself, I am prepared to go to prison rather than accept any law that does not sit with my conscience or belief.
Monsanto are little more than pimps…in the same way a pimp makes money from selling a human being, Monsanto pimps seed, created for all!
As you can probably tell…I am exceedingly cross!
There are several of my friends who share our view as well… It is a matter of time before the peaceful demonstrations initiated by Native Americans in front of Monsanto’s corporate headquarters, becomes a major demonstrative issue against same with area farmers joining the lot. We keep the heat on on this side of the pond, but it is difficult with Congress in their pocket. I don’t know how Canada managed to ban Monsanto, but it is my understanding that they have managed to do it.
It is more than just Monsanto…it is a global takeover of the food supply, initiated by government and corporation alike. If you doubt this, then simply google “order 81, Paul Bremer, Iraq” …therein lies the plot, thick and curdled as it is! …Control the food and you control the world!
I am a relative newbie, but passionate none-the-less. Thank you for that info. Just reposted it on all of my social network connections. We just need a world wide effort with the tenacity of Erin Brockovich. Too many people feel overwhelm because of the magnitude of the resistance…but I think we can educate them and the social media is a good outlet.
I hope that you are having the glorious sun and warm that we seem to blessed with this day….
Rather a lot of rain here…but then it is Ireland :))
I wonder if you’ve seen this Colette. it’s an article written against GMOs by a former bio-tech scientist from Canada. He now runs an organic farm.
Thanks for the link!
